The Rational Male by Rollo Tomassi is undeniably one of the best books on masculinity in the market. However, it’s worth noting that, despite my disagreements with certain aspects, it serves as an eye-opener, especially in understanding the dynamics between men and women. Tomassi’s exploration of concepts like ONEitis and plate theory is truly insightful, and I strongly believe every man, ideally during his teenage years, should give this book a read.

While the book is an excellent guide for men robust in their masculinity, it lacks emphasis on sexual continence. Consequently, as individuals naturally weaken with age (a phenomenon common to those not practicing sexual continence), they may find themselves compromising on the principles it teaches.

I’d like to challenge Iron Rule of Tomassi #4, suggesting that living with a woman you are in a sexual relationship with can diminish polarity and, consequently, the attraction between partners. Contrary to the book’s advice, this perspective considers living together as the initial step toward relationship deterioration.

On page 49, Tomassi acknowledges the value of absolute monogamy in parenting and developing a strong masculine and feminine psyche. However, alternative perspectives, such as those described in Wilhelm Reich’s “The Function of the Orgasm” and Neil Donald Walsh’s “Conversations with God,” present different familial structures that seemingly foster healthier societies.

Still, a “must read”.


The 88 Laws of the Masculine Mindset by John Winters

I absolutely love this book! I used to read a chapter every Saturday and then spend the following week pondering it, integrating its principles into my life, and reflecting on how I could improve my behavior. Winters is succinct, precise, and straight to the point.

One of the few things I disagree with is when he suggests that eating meat and obtaining proteins from it is superior to plant-based sources. Scientific studies have refuted this claim, with numerous cases supporting the idea that plant-based proteins are, in fact, superior to those obtained from animal products. Examples you can start with include documentaries like “The Game Changers” and my personal nutrition favorite, Dr. Jim Sharps, and his International Institute of Original Medicine.


Atomic Habits by James Clear

As such, this book has nothing to do with masculinity. On the other side, it is a perfect manifestation of the masculine mindset, providing the theoretical knowledge you’ll need to succeed in anything in your life.

In short, the book’s teaching is this: In order to succeed, you must create a structure that leads you to the goal you want, and then simply follow this structure until you reach your goal.


The Science of Orgasm by Barry R. Komisaruk et al.

The only reason this book is on the list is to recommend that only experts in the field of neuroscience spend their time on it.

Full disclaimer: Before I even ordered the book, I contacted Barry and informed him that I intended to pursue a Ph.D. or even a Post Doc. on the subject of men’s ability to become sexually continent. I asked him if he’d be my coordinator, but we did not find a solution together. Then, when I read his book and came across him writing, “Multiple orgasms are not necessarily a goal one should strive for; they are another form of orgasmic experience that some people enjoy.” I understood why. In fact, I was horrified that such an intelligent and well-educated man can have such an approach to this part of sexuality. Well, I hope for him, and for all other men, that at least once in their life, they will experience perfectly sexually continent multiple orgasms. After that, I am sure that they will change their attitude.
